On a Simply Enak walk through Kampung Baru, you try the things the neighbourhood is quietly known for, among them nasi lemak, charcoal satay, ayam percik and kuih. Your guide grew up eating here and knows which stall does each dish well, which queue is worth it, and the order to eat the meal in.

How is the tour run?
Small groups of no more than nine, a local guide who knows the neighbourhood well, and an easy pace with seated stops. Since 2011, Simply Enak has been showing guests the real Malaysia, and Kampung Baru is one of the corners that proves it.
What does a Kampung Baru food tour cover?
A walk through Kampung Baru covers the main food corners in about two and a half to three hours, with fifteen or more tastings along the way. nasi lemak, charcoal satay, ayam percik and kuih are on almost every route. You move on foot between a handful of stalls, stopping to watch food being made, meeting the families behind it, and finishing at a drink or dessert stop. The pace is easy, with seated stops as often as standing ones.
Should I eat in Kampung Baru or explore on my own?
A guide earns its keep in a place like Kampung Baru three ways: you do not waste a queue on the wrong stall, you taste the things the neighbourhood is known for rather than whatever the menu happens to offer, and you leave knowing exactly where to return.
