A private tour takes an existing route and runs it for your group only. A tailored experience builds a new route from scratch around what you actually want.
Custom route, not a preset
We don't adjust an existing tour. Your guide designs a route from scratch based on your brief. Different neighbourhoods, different stalls, different dishes.
Pre-tour planning call
Before anything is booked, you talk to your guide on WhatsApp. You discuss what you want to eat, how much you can walk, what you've tried before, what you're curious about.
Any duration, any format
Three hours, six hours, a full day, a multi-city itinerary. A food crawl, a market deep-dive, a heritage walk with tastings. The format serves the experience, not the other way around.

How It Works
From idea to table
Tell us what you want
Send us a WhatsApp or email. Tell us who's coming, what you're curious about, any dietary needs, and your dates. The more detail you give, the better the route.
Your guide responds with a plan
Within 24 hours, your guide replies with a proposed route. Neighbourhoods, stalls, dishes, timing. You refine it together until it feels right.
We book the stalls
Once you're happy with the plan, we confirm with each stall, arrange logistics, and brief your guide on every detail of your route.
You show up and eat
Your guide meets you at the agreed point. Everything else is handled. Adjustments on the day are always possible.

The Durian Pilgrimage
5 hoursA 5-hour route for a guest who wanted to understand durian beyond the tourist stalls. Started at a durian farm outside Penang, ended at a specialist stall in George Town where we tasted 7 varieties. Included a stop at a durian paste maker.
Hawker Dynasty Tour
4 hoursBuilt for a food writer. Visited three hawker stalls run by different generations of the same family. Each stop traced how the recipes changed (or didn't) across 60 years. Ended at the grandchild's modern reinterpretation.
Vegetarian KL Deep Dive
3.5 hoursA guest who'd been told KL was hard for vegetarians. We built a route through Little India, Kampung Baru, and a Chinese vegetarian stall hidden above a hardware shop. Six stops, all plant-based, all deeply local.
Pricing is quoted per route
Because every tailored experience is built from scratch, pricing depends on duration, number of stops, and group size. Most routes fall between RM 400 and RM 1,200 per group. Send us your brief and we'll come back with a quote within 24 hours.

How is this different from a private tour?
A private tour takes one of our existing routes (Flavours of Malaysia, KL Street Food, etc.) and runs it for your group only. A tailored experience builds a completely new route based on your brief. Different stalls, different neighbourhoods, different dishes. If you want our existing tour without strangers, book private. If you want something that doesn't exist yet, book tailored.
How much does it cost?
It depends on duration and scope. A 3-hour tailored route for two people starts around RM 400. A full-day multi-stop experience for a group of eight can be RM 1,000+. Send us your brief and we'll quote within 24 hours, no obligation.
How far ahead should we enquire?
Two weeks minimum for a tailored route. Your guide needs time to visit stalls, check opening hours, and brief vendors. We've done it in less when we had to, but the route is better with planning time.
Can you handle complex dietary requirements?
This is where tailored shines. If you're vegan, gluten-free, Jain, or have severe allergies, a tailored route lets us hand-pick stalls that can accommodate you properly, rather than working around it on a standard route. Tell us your needs when you enquire.
Can you arrange transport between stops?
Yes. For routes that span multiple neighbourhoods, we can arrange Grab transport or a private vehicle. This is quoted separately based on the route.
